Mission for Rural India

Fourteen Districts, and Counting

A child born with a heart defect in Hingoli faces the same condition as a child born in Pune, and a very different chance of ever being diagnosed. Paediatric cardiology in Maharashtra is concentrated in a handful of cities. The children are everywhere.

Our camps go to the districts. We screen children where they live, identify those with heart conditions, and bring them into specialist care — with support for families who cannot afford treatment.

The Path a Child Takes

From a Village School to a Healthy Heart

Screening

Free examination and echocardiography at a camp or clinic.

Detection

Identifying children with a heart condition, including those with no symptoms.

Specialist Evaluation

Full assessment at Little Heart Care Center or Little Star Care Center.

Treatment

Intervention or surgery, with financial support where it is needed.

Follow-up

Continuing review for as long as the child needs it.

Training as Impact

Every Doctor Trained Is Another Set of Eyes

1,750+ professionals have been through our two programmes — spreading the ability to detect paediatric heart disease far beyond the reach of any single specialist.

A neonatologist who can perform a functional echo at the cot side, or a paediatrician who recognises the pattern of a significant murmur, changes outcomes for every child they will ever see.
